Yoga Website Redesign
Overview
Context: A hatha yoga teacher wanted to modernize her website.
Need: The old site didn’t reflect her energy or identity, and generated very few bookings.
Problem Statement
- Key information (schedule, classes, pricing) was missing, leading to many calls and messages, which wasted time.
- Classes were not full: a lack of visibility and difficulty attracting new students.
- No clear visual identity: the site didn’t reflect the teacher’s personality or energy.
Users & Audience
Adults looking for a traditional, gentle, and caring yoga practice with a human-centered approach.
Role & Responsibilities
I managed all steps of the project:
- Research: discussions with the client, competitor analysis.
- Content: site structure redesign, copywriting, and gathering testimonials.
- Design: visual identity (typography, colors, imagery) and mockups.
- Development: Webflow integration and responsive design.
- Testing & Launch.
Scope & Constraints
- The existing site was very limited: everything had to be rebuilt (content, structure, identity).
- Branding created from scratch.
- Freelance project done independently, with regular check-ins with the client.
Process
Brief & Strategy
- Understood the client's needs through several interviews.
- Researched local competitors and gathered design inspiration.
Content
- Audited the existing site to identify gaps.
- Interviewed students to collect authentic testimonials.
- Redesigned the structure (pages, navigation) and wrote content.
Design
- Created branding: typography, color palette, visual direction.
- Designed mockups in Figma.
- Iterated based on client feedback.
Development
- Built the site in Webflow.
- Optimized for responsive (desktop & mobile).
- Added SEO basics.
Outcome & Results
- Modern, clear, and responsive site aligned with the client’s identity and energy.
- Significant increase in contact form submissions and class bookings.
- Improved visibility and acquisition of new students.
- The client gained credibility and saved time: with clear information online, she received far fewer repetitive calls.
What I Learned
This project taught me that:
- Truly understanding a client’s personality and energy is key to designing a site that feels authentic.
- User testimonials are powerful for building trust and convincing new users.
- Even a “simple” website redesign can have a direct, measurable impact on a client’s daily work and success.
